Fresh Watermelon Sugar Scrub

Watermelon Sugar Scrub

Hammocks under a shade tree. Picnics. Pool parties. The sweet smell of watermelon immediately calls to mind lazy summer days. Watermelon is packed with significant levels of vitamins A, B6 and C, lots of lycopene, antioxidants and amino acids – all vital for skin health. Watermelon is 92% water, making it a natural for hydrating the skin. When combined with sugar’s natural exfoliation properties, the two ingredients work in tandem for smooth and supple skin.

Because of the natural juice from the watermelon, less oil is needed in this recipe then most sugar scrubs. Much like all-natural peanut butter, this scrub will separate with the watermelon juice rising to the top of the jar. Just stir before each use.

  • 3 3/4 cups of Extra Fine Granulated Sugar
  • 1/4 cup of grapeseed oil
  • 1 cup of fresh watermelon, mashed
  • 8 oz jar
  • Ribbon and label

  1. Mix sugar and oil together. Set aside.
  2. Use blender to mash cubed watermelon. Remove any large clumps (small ones are ok).
  3. Remove any black seeds. Small white ones are ok.
  4. Add watermelon to sugar mixture and blend throughly.
  5. Pour combined mixture into a decorative jar and label.
  6. Watermelon Sugar Scrub should be stored in the refrigerator and used within one week.
